Alocasia – a genus of plants from the Araceae family, numbering 79 species, originating from the eastern Himalayas, through tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, to the tropical regions of the Western Pacific and eastern Australia
The ‘Silver Dragon’ variety is a rare collectible plant. Young leaves, not so decorative at first, change their color to dull gray over time. The dark innervation creates deep furrows on the surface of the leaves that give the leaves an impression of depth and three dimensions. The shape and color of the leaves resemble the color of reptiles – hence its name. It grows up to 30-50 cm in height.
Light: bright without direct sunlight.
Temperature: 20-25ºC. It is a hot growing plant that reacts badly to cold.
Care: the soil should always be slightly dry before the next watering.
