Cactus Echinocereus pectinatus var. rubispinus

Characteristic:

Echinocereus pectinatus var. rubispinus (also known by its synonym Echinocereus rigidissimus subsp. rubispinus) is a

popular, slow-growing columnar cactus, prized for its vibrant color.

Because of its colorful thorns, it is commonly called the Rainbow Cactus.

It has a short, cylindrical stem densely covered with short, sticky thorns with a characteristic ruby-pink or purple hue.

In spring and summer, it produces large (up to 10 cm in diameter), showy flowers of intense pink or magenta with a paler, white center.

It typically grows to about 20–35 cm in height and 7 cm in diameter.

Light: Requires full sunlight (minimum 6 hours per day). It thrives best in a south-facing window; intense light is necessary to achieve the saturated color of the thorns. Watering: Very sparingly. Water only when the soil is completely dry. In winter, stop watering completely and keep the plant in a cool, dry place.
Soil: It must be exceptionally well-drained and mineral (e.g., a dedicated cactus mix with a generous amount of gravel or sand).
Temperature: Prefers warmth, but requires a rest period of around 8–12°C in winter to stimulate flowering.

Pot diameter:
