Characteristic:
Perlite is a volcanic mineral, which after thermal treatment resembles the appearance of foamed polystyrene balls, has the pumice structure, and in chemically it is similar to glass.
The ore of the perlite is extracted from the deposit using the opencast method. After extracting, the rock is crushed and ground to the form of sand. Then, in the mines, the ground red is sorted to various fractions. This is an important process, because it depends on the size of a specific fraction what kind of perlit expanded we get in further treatment.
Then the pearl sand goes to expanded plants. There, it is subjected to thermal treatment, causing an increase in volume. Perlit expands at a temperature of over 900 ° C. Then chemically tied water molecules are released, which are a characteristic feature of this mineral. The escaping water causes the material to expand.
As a result of this process, perlite increases its volume up to twenty times. As a result, its density and embankment weight also decreases twenty times, thanks to which we get light and porous aggregate.
It is most often used as a soil additive and as an independent inert (chemically passive) substrates in gardens, greenhouses, fruit -growing, in forest nursery, in the cultivation of mushrooms, in hydroponics, in pot crops and as a component of substrate on green roofs, turtleneck fields, stadiums etc., as well as for rooting seedlings and reproduction of plants.
The addition of EP 200 perlite to the ground increases the air capacity and earth permeability, while using smaller fractions, water retention increases. The properties of perlite do not change during the entire plant production process.

In the process of reproducing plants of EP 200 perlite, i.e. agroperlite, it is a perfect background: it is very light, thanks to which rooted seedlings can be removed from the ground without fear of damage to delicate roots, sterile, which is very important when in vitro reproduction, has excellent drainage properties , excluding the danger of flooding the substrate (which is especially important in the case of rooting requiring spraying green seedlings) and depriving plants of air access. Thanks to the light color, perlite provides more reflected light in winter, while in the summer it protects plants from overheating.
The surface of the perlite is permeable, thanks to which it is rinsed during fertigation, which eliminates the risk of excessive salinity and flooding of the roots.
