Characteristic:

Thick pieces of pine bark, ideal in themselves as a base for miniature epiphytes, as a substrate for species and varieties that like rapid drainage of excess water and a high degree of aeration around the roots. It can be used to loosen the substrate in a large container, or simply as decoration.

This medium is widely used by many orchid growers.

*The bark is a natural product. The debarking and sorting are done automatically (not manually), so it’s normal to see small pieces of wood (it’s also pine wood, from the same tree as the bark, so it’s not trash) and a small amount of dust (which will easily wash out with the first watering).

The bark is not dried, so before storing for a longer period, it’s a good idea to open the bags to allow excess moisture to evaporate.
